I looks like a hell of a job. Any bootdisk, specially if it is the
bootdisk of the Linux you are moving, would boot perfectly if you
issue at the boot prompt root=/dev/hdxx. And that if you changed the
root partition.
As I have a DOS partition also, I boot dos and run a bach file with:
loadlin vmlinuz root=/dev/hdxx
and then run lilo. This is faster than booting from a bootdisk.
I have moved many times complete running linux with this method.
