We will be hosting a Garage Sale, and a Promotional Drawing for a brand new 2nd Generation iPod Touch as a Fundraiser for Je-Ru Hall. How You Can Help: * Sign Je-Ru's Birthday Card: Come anytime between 9am and 4pm to sign Je-Ru's Birthday card and send him a wish or a message. We are going to mail it to him on behalf of the community. If you do not live in Fairfield but you would like to send him a birthday wish or message please e-mail it to ad...@freejeruhall.com. We will include it with the card. This will be a surprise for Je-Ru. We have not told him we are doing this. * Purchase Items: Come for some great deals...and a cup of hot apple cider. Almost everything you will see in the house will be for sale. If you live in Fairfield, please come to the event and purchase items knowing that all proceeds will go to help Je-Ru. * Make a Donation and Enter the Drawing: No purchase is necessary, however, suggested donations of $15 per entry or $25 for two entries is strongly encouraged. Higher donations will enter you multiple times (i.e. a $100 donation will give you 8 entries). You can enter the drawing at the garage sale, or if you do not live in Fairfield (or you can't make it) you can enter online. A little bit goes a long way. All donations are welcome. Your contribution will significantly help improve the day to day quality of life that Je-Ru will experience as he carries out his sentence. Why we are Raising Money After spending 4 years tied up in a very expensive trial, Je-Ru is now carrying out a 5 year sentence at a Federal Facility in South Dakota. At the time of the trial, Je-Ru's sentencing lawyer was able to cut his total possible sentence in half. Again, thank you to every single person who wrote a character reference letter on behalf of Je-Ru! This was a huge part of the argument for his reduced sentence. With continued representation by legal counsel, this could be reduced even more. It is also still possible for him to be released on bail. Please help us try to get him released as soon as possible! We are also raising funds to cover his mounting prison expenses. So far Je-Ru's family has been sending him money every month for basic necessities. The prison system is a business. Inmates are charged exorbitant prices for basic necessities that we are not allowed to send to him like toiletries, socks, clothes, towels, and food from the commissary. In addition intimates are charged outrageous rates per minute for phone calls. Je-Ru needs to be able to speak to his legal counsel as well as family members. He cannot receive calls.
