"Learning to Die" by Kirpal Singh (on the topic of controlled out of body travel)...which begs the question of what's "traveling". Kirpal Singh uses the term "Soul" but further clarifies that as one or more subtle bodies dissasociated from the physical.
And in light of the previous posted comments, this particular Sidhi doesn't is not "directly" (in itself) connected to the topic of "Pure Consciousness". But in the Sant Mat Tradition, "transcendence" takes place by using the Sidhi to experience Samadhi while in the disassociated state of controlled out of body travel. Then the question becomes: is this in any way related to what most TM meditators experience? Or, was MMY talking about something different that what most TM'er experience; i.e. something more specialized akin to Kirpal Singh's controlled out of body travel. ... I'd ask Kirpal but he's "dead". MMY too. Kirpal says: http://www.ruhanisatsangusa.org/lrn2die.htm
