The income disparity figures listed here are from a speech by Sen. Bernie
Sanders, an Independent U.S. Senator from Vermont.  These are statistics
that he mentioned in the U.S. Senate.

The top 300,000 Americans make more $ than the bottom 150,000,000.

The top 1% make more than the bottom 50%

The top 1/10th of 1% had increase of 4.4 million dollars each in 2005

Top 400 people worth 1.54 TRILLION dollars in 2005

That's up 290 billion from the previous year

We have 18% of our children in poverty; which is the highest of any
developed country.
