You're saying what the vedic literature is saying. Specifically, human beings in the prior ages were far more advanced than those today, i.e., during the Satyuga and Tretayuga. However, the criteria for what is an advanced culture is different from what Kaku is mentioning. For the most part, the vedic literature defined an advanced culture to be "spiritual". Kaku defines an advanced culture based on the milieu of Kali Yuga, that is from the materialistic point of view. >
