"The Social Network" is a film about Mark Zuckerberg and the origins of Facebook directed by David Fincher ("Zodiac") with script by Aaron Sorkin. Fincher and Sorkin did a superb job of capturing the insane world of tech entrepreneurship something I witnessed up close living near Silly Conned Valley. Hell they even had accurate programmer talk in the script which Sorkin said he didn't understand a word of but pulled from Zuckerberg's blog. Jesse Eisenberg does a superb job of playing Zuckerberg as does Andrew Garfield playing Eduardo Saverin the co-founder of Facebook. Justin Timberlake does a great job of playing Sean Parker (Napster). Also of interest was Denise Grayson playing a very convincing intellectual property rights lawyer which she should because not only is she an actress but IS an intellectual property rights lawyer.
I am a big fan of Fincher's films as he always goes to great pains to provide realism. I rented the Bluray at Redbox (it will be available from Netflix Feb 8th) which included two commentaries one from Fincher and one from Sorkin and cast. I was only able to listen to a little of both and there is a second disc of extras (didn't come with the rentral). This film may have to go into my collection as it really epitomizes to me how crazy these companies are. BTW, I have never joined Facebook and have no intentions to.
