Akong Rinpoche was brutally murdered on a visit to China. He co-founded the Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery in Eskdalemuir Langholm, in the Scottish Borders. I visited the place myself long ago. It was the first Buddhist monastery in the UK and Chögyam Trungpa taught there in the early days.
