I decided to take some initiative to do a mockup for future Fedora
desktop. Description available on :

You notice some texts are missing but the concept only gives some
glimpses about the desktop. SVG version is available for modifications.

Some feedback :
1. the blue used is much too agressive, while I agree we should move away
from gray-only the UI should stay unobstrusive, quiet and out-of-the-way.
I agree, I was just extract most of idas I got.
2. the proposed title/menu bars are much too wasteful of space. It may
work

Ah, right. It's been a while since I've fiddled with GNOME and I
misundestood: I thought the theme included both bits and we were
considering both. My bad, sorry.
Asides from the rounded corners to some bits (which, tbh, wouldn't
really fit in with the rest, given square buttons etc) I think

We will consider both, of course. But metacity-theme-2¹ has been in

True, my thinking was if KDE users had a starting point to the dev
cyc, bug fixes could be good, just to get the wheels rolling.
Why limit it to listing

Is anybody waiting to work on them? If anyone wants to work on them and
help the effort, then by all means go ahead. I didn't know that anyone
was waiting and

Hey, I really like Murrine! What does everybody else think?:

I hate Murrine (not sure why: washed-out colors, crystal look) but like
MurrinaGilouche
I agree, I think it has a pale quality to it which might, if ysed for
Fedora, some focus off elements like the new bright and beautiful
icons ;-)
I attached the Murrine engine that I have been using in FC5 so that
it's easier for others to try out those themes based on it.

Let's focus on the gtk2 theme for the moment. I change the metacity
