Hibernation worked out of the box.
Got a firmware rpm for ipw2100 from freshrpms. Did not touch the
kernel, the modules or do any kind of config. Wireless networking and
the brilliant new NetworkManager just work.

Everything works fine on FC5 clean install, but not on upgrade from FC4.
