Good point that it's using gcc, I didn't catch that. I do have the sun
compiler installed, with /opt/SUNWspro/bin at the top of my PATH so I was
going on the assumption that it would use CC rather than gcc.

As far as I understand SSL is used both for passync (AD -> FDS) and
replication agreement (AD <-> FDS). Note two different tasks.
