Problem is solved:
the nscd damons switched to the backup LDAP servers during reboot of the master.
AND the syncronisation is not working for some time (and

An invalidate of the passwd cache will not help (nscd -i passwd).
Only restarting nscd solves the problem.
It seems to me that there is a hanging thread one these users within nscd...
