Dear Fibernetters,
I was in the fabric store this afternoon and saw something new (new
to me anyway) Its suede on one side and fleece on the other ...
synthetic, but maybe also washable? It looked and felt real enough,
at least the suede part did ... nothing really feels like wool except

Hi Holly,
Do you have a web reference for the reinforcing of thin spots on socks?
I have a pair of commercial hand knit socks that is wearing very thin but
not yet a hole on the bottom of the heel. I'd like to learn how to fix
that before he actual hole appears. Also, do you ever fix them with o

something they stopped and are now considering doing again. Or, I could
just be wrong.
So, you just zip along even on the largest Rose whorl? You're

Shetland wool varies so much that one sheep's britch is softer than
another's main fleece :) The wool I used for the 100% Shetland wool
socks I've made was what I call the medium type--slightly softer and
shorter than most Romney by just a bit. Pairs I made from rainbow-dyed

I bought a pair of slipper soles, assuming they had fleece on the
inside, but they didn't--plain leather. I was originally planning to
pick up stitches around the edge and knit up a warm sock, but I want
some wool under my feet, too. Has anyone made a pair like that? All I
can think of is to mak
