A few years ago in the wild bird section of Agway (I think), I saw
a mesh bag filled with short colored roving being sold as a great
thing for nesting birds. It was expensive for what it was - like $5 -
but I got one for my mom for Christmas anyway. Lo and behold, she got
one for me!

I've now asked two rescues where they get their fiber. Neither
of them harvest it from the rescue dogs. The fiber comes from
healthy dogs (mostly show dogs) whose owners are involved with
the breed and want to support the rescue. So this is good news!

My spinning guild is looking for its yearly guild project. We've read
about dog rescues that are raising money by selling yarn and finished
items made from dog fur. The rescues are willing to provide us with
the fur. And we would donate the items we make to the rescue for
their auction.
Does
