Im not backing away from what I wrote a number of months ago
I get a much more even result regarding sharpness , but when I compare
the results whit the Canon scanner I have tested, the results are still
inferior compare to the Canon scanner.

It's been a while since the Minolta Scan Multi Pro units have been shipping.
Just wondering if anyone has real life experience with this unit. Any
sincere pros cons would be greatly appreciated.

I too had a good deal of trouble opening Silverfast. I'm using Photoshop 6
on a Mac G4. But, with much effort I did get it to work. Don't ask how
because I do not remember. Then, after comparing scans made and color
corrected with much effort in Silverfast to those made with Vuescan
