yeah its entirely possibly that you could have some faulty memory that only
shows up when you are trying to do a certain thing. I had that myself and
norton picked it up. whipped the simm out and everything worked fine

Can anyone show the difference between how the SS4000 handles dirty film and
the LS30 without ICE. I am considering purchasing the SS4000, but I may hold
on to my LS30 for ICE incase of having to scan a dirty image etc.

I don't know, I have never seen a fault like this before. It really looks
like severe optical diffusion more than anything else - the spreading of
image from less-exposed
Ecost (www.ecost.com) has them listed for $699, but it isn't clear if they
