what are event viewer logs and where are they?
yes i just installed nikon 3.1. nikon is sending the disk but i downloaded it
from web site. right now we are checking the firewire card (second time) and
the scanner it self. the scanner will prevue but not scan. trhe dell is a new
pentium 3 500 mh laptop with 256 mb of ram. thanks. joanna
Running into major problems installing my new LS 4000 scanner on my PC.
Running windows 2000 professional and cannot seem to get my scanner to scan
although it does preview the image (oddly enough). If anyone has any
sugestions or information that might be of help it would be greatly
apprecia
i have had numerous conversations with nikon about the LS-4000. that scanner
is a very advanced scanner capable of doing fabulous things for the true
professional. the true professional needs an updated computer system designed
for photography and graphics use, not office. i have had to do signi
what does a scanner have to with a money management business? if a computer
was so important you should have a back up. photographers do buy the newest
equipment which helps them make better photos and use the old as back ups.
also there are computer technicians that do the change over night. yo
i did.it might be a broken scanner. the upgraded system is wonderful
it works fine with some of that stuff as i have it but i am amassed that you
works with that stuff. what you need is a new computer and then eventually a
scanner.
i have been unable to install my LS-4000 with a firewire card.i can do a
prescan, autoexposure in scan and then it stops and the green light flashes.
has amyone experienced this? any suggestion. my computer is new has plenty of
ram.
plenty of people upgrade their camera equipment when better nikon products
come on market. plenty of people replace cars when they become obsolete or
are to expensive to fix, why aren't you mad at the auto industry. they also
stop making part for car they consider old. in the time you have writt
windows 2000 professional addition is an undated version of windows nt and it
works well.
what do you do that you need all the applications and networking?
my new computer is just wonderful. it great to finally get into the modern
age. i have changed over my 20 programs and it is no big deal. the speed
saves so much time. mr underpowered computer mentioned he was having some
problems with things in his system not working well. he must be develop
wow, i just hitched up my new computer and ls-4000 scanner and it's amasing.it did not
take that long to convert my lots of programs anf i wish i had done it before. it's a
necessary part of being a professional photographer.
it you don't have USB your computer is ancient and under powered. there are
perfectly easy ways to deal with installing the software etc which i am
doing. you don't need two copies of photoshop. you can get by with the
LS-2000 but very soon you are going to run out of space or figure out how

you can get a pmci card for the firewire and it works just fine. YOU HAVE TO
HAVE A FULL INSTALL OF WINDOWS 98 and i would call nikon about NT. joanna
i am just about to order the LS-4000 nikon and the best price i could get was
$1695. after all the information from this list and other sources i think
this is the best scanner for both slides and negatives. i presently have an
LS-1000 and think's time to upgrade and like nikon products. anyone
i need to buy a new scanner as i still have LS-1000 and have trouble scanning
contrasty and underexposed slides. can i get by with LS-40 as i don't make
big prints or do i need to buy LS-4000.what is the difference? thanks, joanna

i am very interested in negatives vs slides in contrasty situations. i shoot
a lot of tennis in the middle of the day with provia 100, E200 or fugi multy
speed. i have an LS-1000 and do have trouble losing the extreme highlights.

software and e-mail him personally with questions. vuescan is a difficult

i am considering buying a nokia 21 inch #445xi. it has a . 22 dot pitch and
resolution of 2400x1600. the monitor is refurbished and is guaranteed for 3
years. price is $359. has anyone have any experience with this monitor and

i have had a few problems with my f 100 but Nikon fixed them quickly under
warranty. the f 100 and all f series are WONDERFUL CAMERAS check them out.

i have never had that problem in my scans with the LS-1000. this has nothing
to do with that but what software are LS-1000 owners using? silverfast or
vuescan because i am thinking of buying one o fthem and i am not sure which.
