I don't see it on their pricelist, but you can use Imacons here at $35
or so an hour.

The copyright on the word trinitron still lives on, but the patent
itself is expired. The buzzword is aperture grille:

Trinitron is, well, getting old. I'd

o the definition of lifetime
is cast in jello. If you have 3 pixels go bad in 5 years, would you
consider that acceptable?

I've shot quite a bit of hand-held existing-light night photography with
Ilford delta 3200. It is amazing what you can pull out of the aether.

If you are pro-death, you may not want to read the commentary. You have
been warned.

It's all explained at the link

They have had DLP TVs for I guess about 8 years. Most electronics stores
carry Samsung DLP TVs. You probably walked past one and didn't know it
had DLP inside.
Getting back to LCD for photo use, LaCie and NEC have displays with wide
gamuts and
driven DLP becomes the norm, this will be the winning
technology.

I'll plead ignorance here, but I thought the only silver based film is
B&W, excluding products like Kodak Portra BW.
I'm not convinced Nikon is the end to all ends of film scanners, so the
question is when will the whole market die.
My biggest complaint in film scanning is the lower quality of th

Version 1.5 doesn't work with my server for some reason. Just an FYI.

I know when you send it in for repair, they upgrade the firmware.
Microtek repair in the YS is relatively cheap, but I can't speak for
Germany.

I'm going to admit I'm a novice at this, but generally you set your
monitor color temp for 5000k if you are doing photography. Now the rest
of the world will be set at 6500k, so your images will look a bit blue
on such a monitor.

Isn't the IT8 strictly for slide film? There is a calibration sequence
for the IT8 slide in Vuescan, which I used when I was running the
Artixscan 4000.
I've unfortunately had to stop using Vuescan when I got the Dimage 5400

I assume the post was to the list and not you directly. In any event, I

The water would have to be purified as well, else you would get mineral

Windex contains amonia which can etch coatings. Never use it on optics.
Electronics grade alcohol is generally accepted as best for optics. I
use cottonballs rather than cloth.

I'm having some trouble with scanning negatives in the lastest Vuescan
releases, 6.47 and 6.4.8 running under Win98 with a Canoscan FS2710.
When using all default settings, when I preview or use a full scan, the
images come out black. If I boost the Brightness to 50, they appear to be
