In the Symbol Selection dialogue, I cannot find any noteheads with ledger
lines - where are they?
However, in my case I wish to add the ledger line to a black breve!

Even though the 5th line is missing, it is still there as far as Finale
knows, and it won't put ledger lines until you are up above the location
of the 5th line, visible or not.
You can change the notehead for any such notes, using the MassMover
tool, then under the MassEdit menu, Change/Notehe

Someone asked awhile back about changing fonts on existing chord
suffixes...maybe this was mentioned in replies but I needed to do that today
and found that Data Check > Swap One Font for Another works just fine to do
