Hello,
I'm trying to make a Finale Script to do this following:
-Use the measures I highlighted,
-Change to layer 4;
-Fill with quarter rests;
-Apply staff style: blank layer 4;
I do this when I add chords to the vocal line of piano/vocal parts when there's no
note on which to attach it. Unless
Hi,
I'm using TGtools to remap certain keys, and my favorite is the ability to make F1=layer 1, F2=layer 2, etc.
Sometimes -- about half the time -- F1 gives me a Finale help screen in addition to moving to layer 1. Any way to disable that?
Thanks!

Chuck,
If both you and Robert Patterson use it, it's good enough for me! I'm going right into my default file and fixing it up!
Thanks.

Hi All,
Maybe someone could shed some light on "system margins." I've tried several ways to handle them (mostly for piano-vocals and lead sheets) and find that the easiest most efficient way seems to be to set them all to zero, and just use "distance between systems" for spacing. Is there somethin
Allen,
Thanks for the tip. However before I received it, I got so crazed with the paper jam-ups that I went to spales.com and bought an HP 2300 Laserjet. I only do 8½ x 11 prints anyway, and I hope I didn't do a stupid thing.
I'll keep you posted.

I'm curious why you'd pick 76% instead of 75%. They're so close that one
will hardly notice the difference for looking at it, but 75% makes all the
math much more tidy.
You're right ... it was just that for some reason I was reducing the page to 76%, and I thought I'd stick to that number. However
Hello helpful people!
I know this has been discussed before, but I'm still trying figure out whether to use a page reduction (76%?) or staff reduction for my piano-vocal scores.
Right now, I've settled on the following for my "page format for score:"
Staff height 96
Scale system 76%
Scale page 1
>>If you can reproduce it consistently,
report it to MM.
Done. Their reply, FYI:
Ken,
I was able to reproduce the problem thanks to your steps. I reported the issue to the Project Team and we will look into it.
Thank you for the input!

Take a document which has a text box containing the field "composer." Save it, re-open it, change the composer's name, then close the file. Shouldn't Finale ask you if you want to save the changes before closing the file? It doesn't anymore! When you re-open the file, you've got the o

Hi,
I'm using Win2003 and suddenly Finale refused to open. This is the message I got:
Error starting program:
The MSVCP60.DLL file is linked to missing export
MSVCRT.DLL:_lc_collate_cp.
Dennis,
Thanks for looking it up; it seems like there are more and more reasons to upgrade to XP.
Meanwhile, I did a restore of my entire C drive from a Norton "Ghost" backup file, and everything works fine again -- for now.
Thanks.

I know this has come up before, but I never needed to pay attention until now!
My printer's (NEC 1450N) been acting up big time as far as paper feed, and it's making me crazy. I'm thinking of getting a new laser, probably HP. However, do I need it to "speak" PostScript? I paid a lot extra for Pos
Hope someone can help...
Suddenly, Finale (Win '03) won't start. I even re-installed the program,
but get the same error box:
Error starting program:
The MSVCP60.DLL file is linked to missing export
MSVCRT.DLL:_lc_collate_cp.
Is anyone familiar with this?
Thanks
