Patterson Beams adjusts stem lengths in these situations. PB comes free
w/ Fin02 or later. It also part of my plugin pkg that works w/ Fin2000
and later.

Are those 8th-note stems all down-stems sticking below the staff? If
so, Finale uses the Shortened Stem setting.
If that is the situation, you can change the length for all shortened
stems in Options/Document Settings/Stems -- try that and see if it helps

I'm working on a piano file where all the 8th stems length are too short in
layer 2.
Do you know a way to change this globally without utilizing stem length tool
for each notes?
