I recently bought Apple's wireless keyboard as a Finale accessory, and
I thought I'd give it a shout-out here on the list -- this is one of
the best purchases I ever made. The ability to put the computer
keyboard flat on top of my MIDI piano, and move it around as necessary
(to accommodate large scores, RH vs. LH entry, put it completely to the
side, etc) is just fantastic. My MIDI keyboard is set up kitty-corner
to my computer, and for Speedy I used to have to reach over to the
numeric keypad on the computer desk. Now, no more wrist strain from
that uncomfortable reach-over! I can also use the shortcuts on the
main keyboard much more easily, whereas before I could only reach the
numeric keypad. I also still have the regular (wired) keyboard set up
at the computer desk, so I can use either one at will.
I was worried that the wireless keyboard would not work in the Classic
environment (since Bluetooth is not supported in OS 9), but in fact it
works perfectly and seamlessly.
I highly, highly recommend it, especially if your workspace setup is,
like mine, less than optimal.
[Now all I need is a wireless mouse, and a second flat-screen display
to mount on the wall above the MIDI keyboard.]
