First of all, thanks to all who responed directly and on the list to my questions.
I bit the bullet yesterday and bought the M-AUDIO MIDISport 1x1. Installed it this morning and everything is working! So far, I always boot into OS 9 since every app I own is for 9. (I was glad to read this morning that some people are successfully using the MIDISport from OSX.) I only bought this dual-boot G4 because the 7600 needed a new hard drive, Apple had resumed making the dual boots, and I needed to do something quick to make sure I'd still be current. I kept asking the same question again and again because the purchase computer/adapters/monitor,/etc. nearly wiped out my desktop publishing computer stash, so it could be eons before I buy OSX software. :o[ Anyway, thanks for your help, list members. Almost had a stroke when Finale wanted to turn off AppleTalk because I need that to use my legacy LaserWriter with the Asanté bridge. Leaving it on had no ill effects on either hyperscribing or printing, thank goodness. I'm counting the hours until tomorrow morning when I get to play "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel." This (as well as Lent/Easter) is my time of year as far as organ music is concerned! ;o) Thurletta M.
