This might be easier to answer if we knew what kind of OS Angelo Gilardino
uses. I am probably not the right one to answer this as everything works
fine on my computer (I'm using Acrobat 6 pro/WInXP). In this version you can
set the resolution up to 4000dpi by choosing the press configuration in the
Adobe pdf printer dialog. 
Compiled Ps listing was (is) notorious for not working as it should, even in
Win 98/Me. In WinXP I think it is the same problem as converting eps to pdf
was recently discussed.
