Well, the registration itself _resides_ on the HD. Where else would it. But it _checks_ the Ethernet MAC address. I do actually know this for a fact, as it has caused problems with my configuration. I think now MakeMusic sends you an email after you register, with a response code, so you don't eve

Hi Jef, Yeah, of course, you can partition an external FW drive any way you like. Some older macs cannot boot from FW drives, but most new ones have no trouble doing so. As for your Finale registration, though, AFAIK it resides on the computer, not the drive -- so you will still have to regist
