Hi---I'll try reposting this query.
I'm writing guitar parts for jazz band and am having trouble writing a chord
such as D7(#5b9). When writing it the flat "b" always becomes a small "B".
I don't want to write it "-9".
I am using Finale 2007 and Windows XP Pro.

Has anyone tried the MusicXML feature from Cubase 4.1? Is the export any
accurate? I'm thinking about buying a copy for my occasional MIDI
mockups now when the US$ is almost lower than the Deutchmark during the

If possible, could anyone send me a PDF output of a non-trivial page
Greetings Listers,
I need an (elementary) book that explains how to make smooth key
changes in compositions.
I hope that some of you can recommend a title or two.
Thanks

From the look of your QK script, the last step " ] ", which is your
trigger, is most likely advancing the Speedy frame one bar, since
that's the keyboard command for that in Finale. Try a different,
more obscure trigger like maybe '" Cntl-] " and see if that solves
your issue.

Catching up with the old posts here... Did you send my fix to the
problem to them? I think this should be fairly easy to fix, once i

ah, it's true that there's a bit too much style-specific beethoven
discussion in these books.
peronally i just don't think in terms of keys. i mean, i can step back and
analyze what i've done and realize where the key changes are, and in fact
one often ends up with long ambiguous regions which ar

Heh, heh! Concise? That's the first time anybody ever accused me of
that!
Thanks for the compliment. Coming from you, it is high
I don't know why I haven't seen this before, but in Finale 2007 (and
probably 2008) if you use the macro method to apply articulations,
the articulations get attached to notes in every layer instead of
just the layer you are working on.
I don't believe this is a feature, because previous versi

to all layers involved, would add lots of time to the process.

I don't use these late versions (I already found problems in 2005 and 2006 I
don't like), but can you get around the problem by showing only the active
layer?
