Hi all,
Does anyone know if Finale for Windows 2012 has fixed the bug where it slows
down expression creation/editing if there are a large number of fonts in the
system?
This bug showed up in 2010. It seems Finale scans the entire font library
every time a character is typed. With my font collect
A new plug-in called JW Space Empty Rests is now available for download

Unicode - that's the word. And I understand that the issue is a different one.
I only wrote in sympathy, and to alert all to the fact that the conversion to
Unicode, while obviously a good thing, and probably a necessary one, is not
without problems. I have so little experience with Winows opera

Chuck, thanks for your email, but you're describing something different
from my issue. What you're talking about sounds like the work that was
done in Finale 2012 to support Unicode, and has to do wi
Good advice. Thanks.

HI Aaron and everyone,
This is a cross platform issue. (I am on a Mac.)
I write from the perspective of minimal insight into computer functioning, but
I have experienced chaotic behavior in how Finale 2012 handles non-native
fonts. I reiterate that this comes from what may be a naive perspect
Or simply check "top staff" for parts, then you won't have to concern
yourself with it again.

Hi all,
I believe I've confirmed that this is a bug in Finale, not a problem
with Windows or my font.
First, I'm seeing the same behavior with Windows-supplied fonts like
Arial Narrow and Franklin Gothic Heavy. They both show up as substyles
under their main font name, but when I select them f
Of course! The new instruments had to be added to the score list. Thank you!

The answer is probably to be found in the score list for the "Rehearsal Marks"
category. In the Expression Selection dialog, click on "Edit Categories" to get
to the Category Designer. Have a look at the score list for Rehearsal Marks.

On a finished score, I added two new parts: flute and tenor sax. The linked
parts created for these instruments do not show rehearsal letters, as all the
others do. I tried "unlink" and then "relink" to parts one of the letters (text
expression) in the score. No use. Any suggestions? Thank you.
