On Fin2003 - extract the flute part, add a stave to that part, copy the
soprano cadenza to it in the proper bars, then optimize.
On Fin 2013 - just say "Do it!" and it happens. Guaranteed!

I have a band/vocal arrangement with a rubato verse in which I'd like to
include the voice part in the piano part - but only for the duration of the
verse. I have created a new linked part that includes both the piano and voice
part, but if I clear the voice staff after the verse, in order to b
In Finale 2003, you'd create a group with Flute and Soprano and extract them
together. Then delete all flute music except the cadenza music, lock the layout
the way you'll want it (both staves will still show) then optimize. (Or you
could use TGTools Staff List Manager to force-optimize the flut

I would define the flute part to also include the soprano staff. In the
part only, apply a blank staff style to the portion of the soprano staff
that you don't want to show. Be sure that the staff style only affects the

Working on a project that has Flute and Soprano solo. In the Flute part, I'd
like to display only the Flute part, with the exception of a cadenza section,
where I'd like to display both the Flute part and the Soprano part. What's the
easiest way to do this?

Thanks!

Decide which layer you want to be the standard, then choose the other
layer(s) and drag the notes so that they line up.
