Look at the cursor before you enter text before or after an insert. If it's a
thick line, then any typing will change the insert. If the cursor is thin, then
it's not part of the insert and you're safe to add text.

If I understand correctly, you are placing composer and lyricist on separate

Be forewarned that floppy disks are not a good medium for long term
storage. The little magnetic doo-das eventually fade. If you have things
on floppy, copy to a hard drive and make backups! I have been
contemplating using cloud backups, but I'm still a bit suspicious of
their reliability.

Hi Michael,
Thanks, that's very helpful! On my system, it's enough to click either "2-up"
or "4-up" and then back to "1-up" to activate the grayed-out checkboxes.
Annoying but glad there's a workaround!

If everything else fails, I have a USB floppy drive that I use about once a
year. You would have to mail me the discs, though. Obviously, this is a last
resort.

Hi Robert,
I agree it's wonky. When I need this, I often end up just deleting and
re-inserting the insert.

I try the arrow keys as well, but sometimes I can't get it to work, so I delete

Hi Robert,
You can use the arrow keys to position the cursor before the text insert, or
just type the additional text before adding the insert.
