As you already most likely know Robert, Shape Designer is probably the WORST module in Finale. I think it's virtually unchanged since I first used it way back in Finale 2.0, early 90s. You cannot copy / paste anywhere it in to me knowledge. Whenever I need a certain character anywhere in Fina

What drove the question is that I discovered that it has actually gotten worse since Fin08. Some intervening version caused it to start horizontally stretching shapes on reduced staves (even though the stretch option is disabled). This causes, for example, circles to become ovals. On Sat, Apr 26,

[Finale] Shift system margins?

Hi there, This is a question I probably should know the answer to, but don't: Surely there is some way — plugin-based or otherwise — to shift system margin settings from one group of staves to another? For instance, let's say I'm consolidating system 1-2 into a single system, and so I would li

TGTools Joing Staff Systems does a fairly good job, but it fails to pick expression (and maybe also lyric) baseline changes. Another technique you could try is to insert an empty measure in the system you want to delete.. Force all the other measures onto the systems you want to keep and use delete

Hi Robert, Thanks! I think I'll try your method another time on something simpler… this is a 14-movement piece for 2 orchestras using a lot of unconventional notation, with everything (linked parts and score) residing in the same document. It's VERY easy to screw up the score layout even in the
