I'll be more specific. I have a choral piece with a piano intro of 7 measures
and I wish to hide the vocal staves for that system. Then the ladies sing alone
for awhile, so I want to hide the men's stave on that system. I have

Hi Richard
sorry I should have been more specific. Usually when you have a bunch of
staves showing you can select the staff tool, then select all (cmd-A) and
right click on ANY of the handles and choose Hide empty staves and it
will hide the staves.
Yesterday I came across a file where selecting
Sorry just noticed your comment about 85%, curiously I'm working at a staff
reduction of 85% too, I wonder if this is a voodoo number responsible for a

enormous conspiracy theories start this way...

Hey guys,
I’ve got MacFin11. One of my students (via Skype) has the latest
version, so I cannot open his files when he sends me assignments. Is it going
to cost me an arm and leg to upgrade, being this far behind. I’m happy just
having 2011 version, except for this.
All the best,

Hi Jeff,
Being a guitarist, who enjoys your score work, I’d like tohumbly suggest a
couple of ideas. First off, your score sample doesn’t appearto have a TAB
staff insert, which is what I believe is your intention. TAB, to be specific
is a numerical systemthat expresses fret numbers on a
Clearly, unless it's even more insidious than that, 85%, tenor clef, sharp

Kim - I think you can upgrade for $139. Keep in mind that your Mac OS must be
10.7 or higher for Finale 2014.

hi bruce, thanks. a TAB clef is definitely a
good idea (suppose i just though it to be
obvious, but you are right that it is essential).
my idea with the extra space between the 6th-7th

I had to upgrade (should I put that in quotes?) to Win Fin 2014 a few

I've had fair results with the 2014 save to 2012 feature - seems to
work pretty well. Kim could ask her student to do so. Not sure about
the 2012-2011 transfer, though.
I am trying to figure out what 2014 does better (many things), do them
on this large project, and maybe save back to 2012 for
Try bringing up the group attributes and make sure that When hiding empty

Never hide was the selection.
