The only way I know to do this is to use the beam extension tool and
manually extend them. The good new is, if you have my Mass Copy plugin you
can do it manually once, then copy the pattern to the rest.

In JW Change-Rests-Beaming, apply Break Beam Before Rest and perhaps
also Break Beam After Rest.

If you no longer have access to the original MUS file, you can get a PDF back
into Finale via scanning, TIFF import, or using something like PDFtoMusic Pro.
There are pros and cons to each route depending how intricate a large the file
itself is.

It can be possible with an OCR, although the final result may depend on the
pdf's resolution. You'll certainly need to do some workaround.
