[Finale] Need to show resting section staff in solo passage?

In a work for string orchestra, I have a passage with 4 solo first violins, and the rest of the section in resting. I have included 4 staves in the score for the first violins and will hide the empty staves when I lay out the rest of the score. These four staves will be included in the Violin

[Finale] How do I get playback to skip some measures???

How do I get playback to skip some measures??? WinFin 2014, or 2012, either or both: I want to put some cuts in for playback but leave those measures in the score. I've tried the repeat tool, which, I thought, ws the way that I had done this in the past. No options for jumping in expressions.

Hey Justin, OK, partial success. Deleting the "ini" files allowed Finale to recognise my Roland. However, at first only the simple entry method worked, but after playing around a little with the midi controls I got the speedy entry to work again. Thank you for all your help. Chordially, John --
