With regard to the abbreviated notation question, how about just putting in the statement: ³Slashes (always) indicate measured tremolos/subdivisions² ? That would remove the need to identify the sort of notation, and make a direct statement about the intent of the slashes. Geoff 1. rhythmic

To avoid implying a clef, could you say a note two ledger lines above the staff? This would indicate that it position on the staff isn't associated with a pitch. Might cause confusion if one were to write the rhythm on Bass Clef staff or one of the C clefs. On Wed, Oct 8, 2014 at 11:40 PM, dc

[Finale] total number of frames

2014-10-10 Thread Ryan
Hi list, Anyone know the total number of frames a Finale document can handle? I know it's around 32,000 as I've reached this limit but I'd like the specific number. Thanks! Ryan ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu

Do you know if linked parts affect this number, or if it's only the frames in the score that matter? For example, Flutes 1 and 2 sharing a staff would each have their own linked part, and I assume it would affect the size of the file. On Fri, Oct 10, 2014 at 12:11 PM, Ryan ry.squa...@gmail.com

from what i understand (F2012) it is each measure in all staves contained in the document. the timpani m1 in the SC is the same -- as far as the structure goes -- as m1 in the timpani PT. if you need a 2nd staff for fl 2 PT then obviously taht will count extra from the combined fl1-2 staff

Didn't realize that Layers count as a frame, too. Good to know. Thanks. On Oct 10, 2014, at 12:35 PM, SN jef chippewa shirl...@newmusicnotation.com wrote: from what i understand (F2012) it is each measure in all staves contained in the document. the timpani m1 in the SC is the same --
