Yes, the included software is weak. Windows Fax and Scan OK, but I can't
figure out how to keep settings for multiple scans. No problem with
resolution for me, though. All good.

I second the motion for Mustek. Great price, no problems. I've used it
with Windows Fax and Scan, looking for better software. My only complaint
on the Mustek is that it has a black mat on the inside of the lid. This
means one has to edit any scans that are too big (to save ink).

Sent from my iPhone, so please pardon all the typos.

Hi Robert,
This might not be exactly what you had in mind initially, but I have the
Brother MFC-J6910DW all-in-one. It prints and scans up to 11x17 and I’ve been
very pleased with it overall. I’ve been using it for a little over a year.
And it won’t break the bank. I believe Brother has upd
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good scanner? I've decided that it
will be much quicker to scan printouts into PDF's than to bring many of my
old Finale files up to date, so I'd like to get a scanner for this purpose.

And the attached hairpins save a ton of time!

I think what happens is that one gets used to the way a software works

tools are renamed, it feels unfamiliar and takes getting used to.

I’d long been used to the blue one.
It would be nice to still have the option.

hi david, as bruce said, finale is a crap word
processor. however, it is indeed possible to
type directly using IPA fonts into the lyrics
window or to use "type into score" in the lyrics
tool. but some fonts (SIL, for example) are
mapped such that many common characters require

YMMV but I think the new palette is a huge UI improvement.
