There hasn't been a company called Coda in over a decade.
You need to call PeaksWare now.

Actually, I'm listening through $1200 JHAudio JH13 custom in-ear monitors

You can apply a staff style to the part that has "Lyrics" unchecked. I know
that works in Fin12, and I'd be surprised if it did not work in Fin08.

It isn't.
Garritan is not the best, but way better than SoftSynth, imo.

Bad performance by the Garritan sounds could be a matter of insufficient access
to RAM. Low amounts of RAM would be much less noticeable with the less
demanding MIDI sounds.

Hi all,
Does anyone have an tips they'd like to share on efficiently handling grace
note spacing and positioning, beam angles, accidental positioning and other
issues? Is there any alternative to manually (and tediously) hand-adjusting all
of these things using Special Tools? Are there any plug
Hi all,
As I'm sure many of you have noticed, when triplet brackets are set to "avoid

number no longer lines up correctly with the bracket. When the bracket is below

For beam angles, I'm pretty happy with Patterson Beams. It's not 100% but

I have no answer to your question, but I will mention that I am very happy

turning off engraver slurs and other automatic positioning options in

Hi Robert,
Thanks. What Patterson Beam settings do you recommend for grace notes? I use
the "Henle Beams" settings as per your website, but this doesn't always work as
desired for grace note beams.

I adjust them manually and am sorely irritated by the necessity to do this in

Darcy,
I just re-read your post and realized you were referring to beam angles of
grace notes, which Patterson Beams does not affect.
Here again, a mitigating tool is Mass Copy, which can recognize and copy
grace note beam angles.

I replied to the wrong thread. Unfortunately Patterson Beams has no effect

Hi Jef,
Unfortunately not. Using my default file, with 3.5 point hooks and 6 point
default vertical position, I'd have to change that value to 20(!) points to
avoid the problem. Obviously that's unacceptable as a basic setting.
Other than this one issue, I'm pretty happy with Finale's Enhanced

In my experience, "Auto-Annotate All" works perfectly in over 90% of cases, and
even in cases where it's not flawless it's still a huge time-saver. It's one of
the truly great recent Finale features.

No, I have 8GB of RAM and I'm not running anything else other than MS
Outlook and the Finder, so memory is not the issue. MakeMusic support has
confirmed that I am indeed hearing the Garritan sounds and they're "sorry
to hear I am not happy" with them. The keyboards and strings may be

I was happy with the Garritan sounds I had with Finale 2008, less so with
Finale 2012. I think they possibly need some tampering with in the
"ambience" department to make them sound okay.

But with that the Quick Look of Finale files disappeared and now I only get the
