I would like to bring an acrobat PDF score into finale for
some touch up, but I’m beginning to think it cannot be done directly. Any hints from the guru’s here? Thank you.

Dennis has explained it very well. Since Sonar can have an audio track,
and a midi track, you can move the audio track to align it with a midi
measure.
Using the audio track time base, and selecting a suitable "from" and
"to" you can audition the audio track and insert notation (manually);
accord
deo only, no sound.
This is a good idea, though -- it would certainly make transcriptions
from audio files easier. You should write to
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and suggest
it.
