I know van Wassenaers music, there is a very good recording by the Combattimento Consort from The Netherlands. I think it is powerful music, invigorating. Problem with van Wassenaer (Graaf = 2 a's and van Wassenaer = 2 s's) is that a man of his standing wasn't supposed to compose, or publish. Nobility doesn't work, remember? He was persuaded to publish, and so he did, but not under his name. The orchestral sound of the time was transparent, with strong basses, and I suppose the music could sound really well when played by a brass band, with good tubas ;-)
