Two points: I'm adding a new staff, so there won't be any notes in it. "Hide Empty Staves" does not always restore my systems to the exact staff spacing as before, so it is not an acceptable solution. FWIW: The reason for this is that I need to add (in this case a percussion) instrument after I'v

I’m not sure I understand the question. How would adding another staff NOT affect the layout? It makes every system exactly one staff taller. You can choose the new staff everywhere except the place you want it with the Staff Tool and select Hide Empty Staves. This only works in Page view. For

It seems like I had figured out a way to add a staff to an existing document without affecting any existing systems. However, when I do it using either double-click in the Staff Tool or Add Instrument in the Score Manager, it adds the new staff to every system and staff set. Does anyone know a way
