Just weighing in. I use Finale every day and have never (in about 15 years) used the transcription tool. It's completely impractical for me.

That sounds like a great idea, but there is the specter of Finale becoming bloated when all the good ideas are implemented. Maybe a sequencer could replace the Transcription Tool. I'd be interested to know how many regular users of Finale make use of that tool.
