You have missed my point entirely. I was not arguing that your

Viola, on the other hand, is just plain wrong no matter what.
On the contrary, I have seen it used many times to mean a musical pun on the
original French word. This is one of many ways by which words move from one
language to another. (check out the French word 'vasisdas' for an

And I thought Viola was an instrument slightly bigger than a violin, and
the word originated in Italian. I think there is a point to be made
about Viola-_players_ being wrong, but then we probably don't want to
get into this.
BTW, I have a slight feeling of Deja-Vu here (please don't start on
Lucky you...;-)
(Sorry Violas, I couldn't resist...)

No, it wouldn't matter because she wouldn't

This is a different level of nitpicking. One can make a perfectly
reasonable argument that whereas the French word is indeed spelled

Hi Everyone,
Recently I received a file sent by someone that was saved using Finale 3.2 for
Mac into an .ETF file, which are supposedly useful for just this purpose. I,
however, cannot open it on my end using Finale 2002, 2004 or 2005. In each
case, I get an invalid file type error message.
Here is a crazy suggestion, change the .etf to .mus and see what happens.
Please don't let anybody see this I don't want them to laugh at me :-[
