(that teaches me to respond without checking!)
Make sure you are clicking the correct handle. Often there are three
or four in that area. You are looking for the one on the top line,
right at the top of the clef.

Well, the Command key doesn't work for me either. It just selects one
staff at a time, un-selecting any other ones.
