The best way is via XML. And I have done this hundreds of times over the past 2-3 years, using the Dolet 5 plugin and exporting from Finale Mac 2007. It works remarkably well for the vast majority of the music elements: notes, ties, slurs, tuplets, etc. Even lyrics and the overall page
