Look at the cursor before you enter text before or after an insert. If it's a
thick line, then any typing will change the insert. If the cursor is thin, then
it's not part of the insert and you're safe to add text.

this on the Win version. Text boxes in general can be a little
confusing as sometimes it is unclear whether it is the entire control
that has focus or if you are editing INSIDE the control, but if you

Considering it is a behavior I NEVER WANT, it is particularly annoying that
MM broke it.
