Choose the Toolbox. Then the Note Shape Tool -- the one with the asterisk. Click the measure then select the notes you want to change by double-clicking their boxes. Choose whatever symbol you want for the note heads in the window that opens. The quarter-note head is number 207 on my version of

[Finale] notehead question

I’m using Finale 2012 on an iMac. For a triple stop (3 vertical notes) for a violin, I want the top note to be a half note (empty note head) and the lower two notes to be a quarter note (filled in note heads). I’ve entered as a half note. Now how do I blacken the bottom two notes? Thanks, Marti
