Hello All (& Ben),
To Ben R. -- got KDE installed without a hitch onto Mac OS 10.2
following the bootstrap method. very cool. Bit longer to load, but it
does seem a lot snappier on responsiveness...or this just me? Also,
new startup background image? Did you do? Nice! I also had the

I ran "fink selfupdate_cvs" so I can install the latest openssl with the
latest bug patch. Then I reinstalled openssl. Here are some newbie
questions:
1. /sw/src contains a file called "openssl-0.9.6g.tar.gz", but when I
run /sw/sbin/openssl and type version, it reports:

I've tried a couple of times to install Mozilla, but keep getting these
compile errors. Any ideas what the problem is? I apologize for the
lengthy text here: In the log, this is the line where errors started
appearing. Thanks for any help.

I am trying to install fink using the clean install instructions and I
get a compilation error while running bootstrap.sh:

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who offered me advice on my fink problem. I got it
working this evening. In the end, it was a clean reinstall using
dselect that worked. Here's what I did step-by-step in for those of you
who may have had trouble installing...
Here's what I did to get fink to work on

Sorry I gave bad advice here. I don't yet know how this is supposed to work.

Thanks for the info, Martin. I was able to download the package
directly from the UW site and build it without using fink (though
without SSL), but I'd still prefer to build it with fink and SSL.
You're right, I didn't look in crypto. Didn't think an IMAP daemon
would be there!

I have followed the instructions on the fink.sourceforge.net page about
performing a fresh install from CVS for Mac OS X 10.2, it seemed to go
very smoothly and I saw no errors. However, after installing and adding
the "source /sw/bin/init.sh" line to my ~/.bash_profile, I still

Hi folks
I installed xscrabble. All seemed OK but when I fire it up I receive:
Couldn't find resource file XScrabble.
I checked out the docs but it appears Fink's installation is slightly different.
Any pointers?
