Fink Commander lets you do a batch rebuild, but you do have to preselect
all the packages. This would work pretty easily for KDE, since everything
is either in the kde or crypto section.

No need to do anything drastic--the compile takes place in a safe
directory. Just try to do the install again, and there should be no
problem.
In general, if a compile job gets stopped in the middle (e.g. by a system
shutdown or a Control-C in the terminal window), you will have to start
it over.
Before I file this as a bug (or rather several bugs), any thoughts:
