I tried removing ghostscript6 using, as Alexander suggested, "sudo dpkg -r --force-depends ghostscript6" Then I did an update-all with the following results, which is why I got interrupted in the first place, because it can't seem to find libxml2-2.5.4.tar.bz2 anywhere. I've changed the mirrors

You probably have Virex 7.2 installed: it uses some fink-derived libraries. If you want to use both Virex and fink's binary installer, one option is to turn Virex off, remove the /sw folder, install fink, then install dlcompat, curl, and openssl--these provide the same libraries. Then you could
