I checked my init.sh file and can't see anything wrong. My PATH also includes both /sw/bin and sw/sbin in it. Any other ideas?

I installed apple's x11SDK (moving aside the old X11R6 tree which was
installed via fink some 4-8 weeks ago) and x11 dependent programs like
gnuplot, gv, R do still run
I am getting a compilation error each time I try to update fink or when
I tried to install xemacs. I have developer tools installed, there
don't appear to be updates specific for os 10.3. Maybe I'm missing

This is a well-known bug in Apple's X11. Their startx does not work if
it is run from a tcsh command line. The correct fix is to remove the
extra first line in the startx script that was put ther
yeps, i did install X11... (panther cd 3)
when i type 'startx' in the terminal, it tells me it
can't find the proper commands (see below for the
message i see).. it prints a message, nothing
happens..
i tried doing it all over again, (reinstalled x11 &
fink) but no luck..

fink database due to a very slow (56 kbit) line. I have access however
somewhere else and could download all neccessary files and (hand)carry
them on my laptop to my Mac at home.
