My Macbook has 1 GB of memory but the pageouts (call on virtual memory) really seem to climb when I do a large compile in fink. Would going up to 2 GB make for a meaningful increase in performance? Also, if I decide to go for the next version of OS X when it becomes available, would the upgrade a
