I've installed bundle-gnome successfully and I'm now working on getting
gramps installed. It wants reportlab and reportlab-py22 is already
installed. This seems to cause a conflict. Should I temporarily
uninstall reportlab-py22?

carrying on with the recent perl 5.6 vs 5.8 threads. A long time ago I installed 5.8.0
on my machine and it messed up a perl program I was trying to run (Primrose). For
other reasons I then reformatted my HD, started over and left my perl version at

Excuse me if there is an obvious answer to this question that I haven't stumbled
across. I just finished updating my KDE-office programs to 1.2.1-2 yesterday. This
morning I see there are new packages ver. 1.2.1-3 available. When I went through the
Sourceforge cvs site I found a notation that th
I've seen a few threads where people have different X11's on different displays, but I
couldn't work out how to do it. Is it possible to have OS X running on my main display
and have X11 apps (KDE, Arb) running on my second display. I currently drag the X11
windows over to the other screen, but
I need to install a program that requires Perl 5.6.0 or later, and the Perl/Tk module.
In a previous installation I upgraded to perl 5.8.0 and installed Tk800.024 as
indicated on the http://www.lehigh.edu/~sol0/Macintosh/X/ptk/ site. However i seemed
to have problems with perl 5.8. (perhaps t
Sorry, a real newbie question. I've just installed the fink-0.5.0-full package. I'm
now going to install xfree86. Should I install the threaded or non-threaded version?
What's the difference (meaning I'm not really sure what threads are and if they are
important, do they have something to do wit
I had trouble getting all the package description files for my G4, running 10.2.1

packages in stable and unstable. I then insta
Hello once again.
Because of a firewall I can't use fink selfupdate-cvs. So is it possible to manually
download the files that are obtained by the cvs command. What files do I need (info
files?), where can I get them and where do I put them. Would it be possible to copy
files from an imac that
After looking in the directories listed below I find that /sw/fink/10.2/local has the

I decided to start over so I reinstalled OS X10.2.1, installed the update, installed
the developer tools and updates.
I then went to the fink page for new installs under 10.2 and followed the
instructions, downloaded fink-0.11.0.tar.gz, ran the bootstrap, changed the tree in

I unpacked my new Mac, followed the installation instructions for dev
tools and fink and tried to install ARB. I'm using OS X 10.2.1, with fink 0.4.1 X11
is working fine. Unfortunately when I tried fink install arb it came up with a few
